Sitting down to pen a poem can be intimidating because unless an idea has been burning away at you, it’s often hard to know what to write into a poem. That’s where having a prompt can help. Prompts help funnel your ideas and distill them down so that you can concentrate on the task at hand. Prompts can be followed to a T or used as an inspirational jumping off point — or anything in between. Writing generated by prompts can be used as a warm-up exercise or as the end product. So check out the following links and get your poetry on!
